Last night we went out to the Book Club for Laura's 21st birthday...it was interesting to say the least:)
It was super nice out today so I went wandering around London by myself since everyone else was studying or pretending to study
Hyde park
Wellington Arch on the way to Buckingham
Green Park Gate
in St. James's Park
heh.. it looks like it has no neck
Horse Guard building! & London Eye in the background
this guard wasn't messing around
Big Ben & Westminster
National Gallery & Trafalgar Square. After this I ran around Chinatown for a while looking at all the food I'm gonna eat when I get home in about a month:)
On my way home I randomly ran into this statue of Reagan....
...and the Maryland flag?!?! I was SO confused until..
I saw this & realized it was the US embassy. The armed guards outside made a lot more sense, haha. It's actually pretty close to where I currently live so in case I'm ever chased in a Robert Langdon-esque style, I know where to go
Animals in war memorial next to Hyde Park
horse & dog leading the way
Overall I was out for a little over 3 hours & it's so much better to see a city while walking! Randomly ran into all these fun things & saw memorials/buildings/stores that aren't on all the big streets or the big tourist attractions:)
